We're just plain lucky.
On the drive in this morning, listening to a mix of NPR and commercial radio, I heard stories about...
- Rising gas prices
- Floods
- Iraq deaths (none Iraqi, BTW)
- Rising gas prices
- Imposing our beliefs onto another culture
- The "bitter" Presidential race
- Rising gas prices
It got me thinking about all the negativity--some necessary, most not--that we are exposed to every day. Then I sit down at my computer and read this great post by Seth Godin. It's all about how lucky we are to have "been born here and born now".
It was a great pick-me-up.
Well . . . since I just finished my second studio CD, and it'll be here next week, I'd say the thing I'm going to commit to is aggressive promotion of same. I've already ordered posters, but now I'll have postcards printed. I've already booked several gigs -- now I'll book even more, including FAR-West. And I'll finish the song I started this week that I think will be a great one for CD #3!
